Found a broken Pac Man table top on Ebay. Found a new monitor for a tenner on Ebay, did some cutting of metal, found a modern arcade loom and a new PCB that plays 60 games including Pac Man. Used a PC power supply to power it all and guessed the monitor connections. Da daaa! Four days of evening figuring out and it's up and running. Charlie

Extremely! I was looking for stuff like this a while back on Ebay but they where all doing silly money unfortunately. Always fancied a Galaxian/Asteroids (what's the one with the spaceship where you shoot and drop bombs but you have to move along with the screen?) Excellent purchase!

Think you're talking about Scramble. My game plays:
Galaga Galaxians Scramble Bomb Jack Pengo Pac Man Ms Pac Man Mr Do Dig Dug Donkey Kong Zaxxon 1942
And loads more.
Originals are expensive but I paid £200 for the non-working cabinet, £65 for the board, £25 for wiring loom, £10 for the monitor and the PC power supply was free.

Always fancied making myself a MAME machine, full size arcade cabinet etc.
My Boss is currently making a small one of these from PSP parts, very nifty!

Think you're talking about Scramble. Charlie That's the one. Sounds like Defender as well. My fave was always Asteroids, very basic but great fun.

Awesome, specially on a reasonable budget. They put one of these type things in a van on Pimp My Ride I caught on repeat!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

I have an original Japanese Space Invaders one of these stashed at my father-in-laws warehouse, I havent had even 2 minutes to sort yet. Needs a new monitor and a freshen up and it'll be good as new.
Its quite a low one, like coffee table height. I think I'm gonna have to wait til we move somewhere larger to fit it anywhere.

^^^^^^^^^ That's like the first one I ever played on, about 1979 on a school trip to Northumberland, it was in a hotel in Wallsend IIRC.

I softmodded my old Xbox to play quite a few emulators including MAME games, so far its cost me 99p for a copy of Splinter cell as the console came from Freecycle, i was thinking about fitting it into an arcade cabinet, hadn't thought about the tabletop ones, be easier to find somewhere to put it i reckon.
