Well the carb has been playing up on the Shuv and id stripped it and rebuilt it a few times and this time it wasnt getting better. Luckily the wonder of Ebay turned up a brand spanker for £26! i have a recipt for £155 for the origional one (its a weber 34 ich not stock strommy)
So when it arrived this morning i swapped all the jets over and linkages ect and fitted it, ran like a charm. however the fuel inlet was at a differnt angle so i fitted the origional hose that was a little tight so i could drive to my local motorfactors (less than a mile both ways but i wanted to see what it was like) to get some fuel hose. got the hose, car ran sweet, cracking! ;D ;D
However on lifting the bonnet to fit new hose i was allarmed to find that my cylinder head had become the shape of a certain yellow bent fruit causing oil to poor out of one side and coolant the other
The temp had never ran hotter than normal, or any other signs totally out of the blue. Gutted. So off i went back to the motor factors (on foot) and ordered A new Head gasket set which would arrive at 3.30 and it was 1. So i had some lunch then stripped the head off and took it to my local engine shop to accertain if it was warped or if it was my imagination, they said they would skim it on the sly (cash in hand no recipt bargain!) for £20 so that was done by 4.30 so i managed to get it all back together and i repainted the engine by 8 in time to pick up my missus!
My cars always die just before i go back to uni, it happens every year they obviously don't like being parked in the street!
Ill post some picks tomorrow.
