I´m not sure if these are retro enough yet but we´ve (my eldest is taking his test this month) just got ourself a T4 and are looking for ideas They can be made to look rather tasty methinks! ;D Unfortunately ours looks like this... but with a bit of imagination i´m sure we can getting more like these with a bit of effort. ;D We´re going to try and convert it to run on old chip oil to keep the running costs down and I can´t wait to get stuck in ;D So what do you guys think - too much plastic for "Readers rides"? Anyone got any more motivation pics? ;D Cheers, Dave & Alex (oldbus junior)

I'm going to say they're hovering around the edge of retro, they certain rust well enough! I think a nod to the custom vans of the 70's is needed, that'll definatly make it retro, and properly different to what is usually done with these Can't wait to see what you come up with, as it's bound to be amazing given the high standard of your other builds, now get that build thread started and give us all another reason to log in every evening ;D

Going '70's style would deffinatly be a great way to mod this one. ;D
But seeing the state of the bus you bought, aren't there any better/more complete ones available for decent money?

wow - I know you are good at scrounging/swapping/finding etc, but I hope you got that van for free or even less, as its gong to need a hell of a lot of parts, time and money to get it roadworthy, never mind cool. ....believe me Dave it didn´t cost much! Thanks for this pic Steve, Alex and i were discussing this theme as i´ve got some paint left of from the other van! ;D

well OB, you're in the land of the T4 so plenty of options mainly Projekt Zwo and RSL, which are a bit plasticky! (The black long wheelbase ^ is the RSL van) Personnaly I like the less is more approach, i.e. lower, nice wheels that's about it!! Like mine.... Retro? I think so but I am a bit biased But mine is a 91 which is probably one of the first and overlapped with the T3/Wedge and they are very much retro! Good luck, sure it will be awesome which ever route you decide to take!

My wifes daily driver is a 1.9 TD T4 wound down around 100mm on 7" x 15" merc pentas . It looks a helluva lot lower than a few of my mates T4's which are on the obligatory audi RS4 18" s ;D I'd love to keep it slammed on a set of 5 x 112mm pcd porsche fuchs replicas though ( or a set of bay window steelies with whitewalls and hubcaps ! ) Maybe one day when funds allow
