so... as some of you know i blew up the diff at the RCShow (not the gearbox)... Fixed that - running nicely - exhaust fell off. rotten at back box. new exhaust made up from a 1.8TC system which has a bigger bore. ;D I'm very proud of my welding on this manifold - it used to go the other way ya know as it was from a transverse engine (mini) ;D ;D you cant see the join ! also - heres the V8 in the pick up - pipes and everything - i know what all the wires do now too !! it has been running too - sounds angry. you can see the strange rad layout here >>>

Looks a pretty cool setup. How have you got the radiators connected? Is it being cooled by the one on the right hand side of the picture and then into the left or something else entirely. Are they modded 4 core mini rads or custom jobbies. Are you using a standard water pump now because I thought you were looking for an electric one (or was i dreaming ;D)

yes to the mini manifold thing - 2 ports in the middle section... the rad works a bit like this >> they're based on mini rads but are built to my spec - with hoses to connect on the side so that the coolant can flow through both. they have a deeper core than a usual mini rad and far better capacity. ;D I am using the original water pump now (you werent dreaming, and thanks for remembering! ) as the 2 rads leave enough space and those pumps are pretty good. the pipe on the K&N is just a rocker breather - you can see it on the 2nd V8 pic. (should i have said it was for nitrous ?) so thats engine (running), gearbox (rebuilt), prop connected, clutch bled. exhausts on, coolant all water tight.... WHY AM I STILL HERE !??..... I'm scared

Very interested in the split rads idea, I had thought about it for the Minor, but I'm a long way off that stage yet! Do you need a fan for each rad, or will one for the rad connected to the top hose suffice? Have you had it running long enough to get hot, and did it work?

all good questions - I'm afraid it remains untested at present. had it running but not for long - I'm gonna get the fuel pump on, fill with antifreeze (and water wetter) and see how long it takes for the needle to rise :s
I will try and get 2 fans on although space is tight on the o/s due to the alternator. them slimline fans are EXPENSIVE - phew !

OK give us an update as soon as. This looks like a good solution to space problems around the water pump/rad area.

when it was on the bay before u bought it i remember it looked quite shiny, maybe u could keep one half of the paintwork? oh yes and how much modding did u need to do to get the a serise manifold onto a b serise? has had me wonderingquite a lot! or are the ports in the same place?
