Fitted a new battery to the shuv as it had a 20-odd year old one in there. Seeing as I was in Halfords, I had some fun with the trained apes. Water pump for a '62 bug Piston rings for an RX-7 That kinda thing. got some lovely audio of the shuv though: media.putfile.com/shuv_start_and_rev_from_hotThat's it starting, revving a little and idling. Straight pipe + cherry bomb = the win. *n

I remember winding my old boss's son up who had just started as a "workshop controller" He used to fill in the job cards with the amount of oil, anti-freeze etc we'd used. I'd been servicing an old Beetle and as usual he asked how much oil etc so i said 3.5 litres oil and 2 litres of anti-freeze. ;D He wrote this on the job card and printed off an invoice. Luckily the boss saw the invoice before the customer came to collect his car and told him. Numpty

"We don't have Hillman Imp on the computer...izzit like an mg or summink, mate?" That's pretty like the sort of thing I got when I went into the local Halfords for spark points and a condenser once. ;D I have tried a couple like your suggest, I did try a Trabant water pump one time, also asking for spark plugs for Scania lorries, saying that it's an 11 litre turbodiesel model if that helps, then trying to stop yourself laughing as the yoof on duty at the counter spends ages trying to look it up on the computer!
