Lovely, did you get much improvement with the carb and intake? i've fitted the same setup to my mustang and would like to know if it's as effective as they claim...

It's possible i may need to make some minor adjustments to the throttle linkeage and re-route the advance vacuum line to get it all working correctly. Based on feedback from the Americans, this set up should have turned it into a tyre screeching maniac, but so far it's not quite there.

An overdue update! Went into Wayne's magic workshop for a new system. The layout on these is really weird as the driver side manifold crosses over to the other side and the manifold-pipe fixings both exit on the passenger side. This makes it just about impossible to get any headers for this car so the the pipes were replaced from the manifolds back, dual crossover with Smithy's mufflers, and tucked up nicely out of view. Although now sounding pretty special, it still didn't have the tyre spinning power i was hoping for... so I did a deal with Wayne for the old Edelbrock 750 carb and bought a reconditioned Olds Quadrajet and some Pertronix electronic ignition. The result is totally awesome! I'm now doing away with the tacky shiny chrome bits and restoring the original valve covers and have bought the correct air cleaner to restore. The engine might even get pulled and get the original red rocket treatment if our engine dressing expert can squeeze it in before the hayride!

I'm really not happy with the height of it now either, definitely needs dropping more with a vary mild rake. Something like this?? (including the shaved handles)

meh your car sucks.
Oldsmobiles are rubbish.
JOKE!
I think the stance looks spot on. A bit of rake is hard to argue with.
If you shave the handles, shave the emblems as well or it will look odd.
those wheels really are the WIN on there.

A bit of rake is newer wrong, and i agree with alistair, just removing the handles look weird, do all the other stuff first(including mirrors) if it then isn't clean enough take the handles of too. Personally i think removing handles is taking it a step too far. Almost equal to painting chrome bumpers body color. But it can, in some cases, be just what the car needs. I'm also liking what you've got planned for the engine, all that racey stuff doesn't fit the car. And those rims are just great, please don't get any weird ideas about anything bigger, you'll ruin the car
