I don't think I'd ever own a Beetle, but if I did, I'd want one just like this: *drool*

I'm loving that American Airlines Bay bus Darren - mixes my interest of cars with planes, and I especially love the colour schemes of the early airliners. Is it a genuine ex-airlines vehicle do you think? This is a cool photo Rainking/Abiddento - proves you've driven on the most hallowed bit of tarmac in modern GP racing..... if only the wrong way

We spent the Saturday evening with the Danish owner of this 23 window Splitty & his brother & friend.... Really nice guys - & spoke embarracingly good English, modest too - it was only after applying much beer to our guests that the brother owned up to owning an early 50s Bug with a Judson supercharger & an early 60s Cabriolet with a big 2.1L engine He also has apparently built a number of 'Oxyboxer' engines - a wasserboxer adapted to run as an aircooled engine I must find the Danish forum they go on and say hi BTW; We reckon the above Samba is a later 21 window with the earlier 23 window back panel grafted to give the two extra windows.

what makes you say that Dan? Inny vents, big front indicators, later 'canted' door hinges on side doors & later style filler cap flap. Obviously such vans have often undergone a number of restorations/upgrades etc through its life so I the actual age of a vehicle is often very hard to judge ....... so i'm probably wrong

Cool... I've been after a semi-decent pic of this for ages! Semi-decent is very kind- I'm a dreadful photographer But now a famous, published photographer- woo! Darren, FYI, it's not an original AA bus- there was a thread on VZi about the show with some info... I spoke to the owner of thus one as i love logo,s and he advised that he had put thes eon just before bug jam which was a amazing as they looked so authentic. He said that it took hours of prep and masking though but the end result is great i think also.
