One day of the holiday we visited Neuschwanstein Castle. It's at the top of a steep hill and one of those, just like that, was offering bus-rides to near the top for a couple of euros. The back was kitted out with seats like a bus, and people piled in. LOADS of them. I mean, LOADS... Like a Japanese tube-train or something - it was staggering how crushed everyone was. I was convinced that there'd be no way it'd get us up the mountain, but it slowly whined it's way up some pretty vertical gradients at a steady 20mph or so... Amazing!
