After months in a front wheel drive wilderness I've finally got back in the game with a proper car. the Golf and the polo have been great fun, but I really wanted something old, english and rwd. I've known this car for a few years and knew it was coming up for sale. A bit of to-ing and fro-ing and little Beryl became mine. we towed her to the workshop today, had her running a few times but she's been off the road for about a year and needs a bit of tlc. hope to get her to wheels day but not sure but she's definately going to drayton. I like the 70's look with the big and little wolfies. 2 litre pinto and type 9 with anglia back axle. not positive but I think they are standard on 107E's. the axle not the pinto and stuff. the plan is to patch her up and run her for this year, then make proper repairs during the winter.

I nearly bought that when I was buying my 100E lol. Looks like a good base for more mods.

I used to have a 107E. Yeah it's got a 105E axle, but has the odd 6" 100E stud pattern as standard. Different width to a 105E and has the narrow 100E rear springs. Good little cars these and look good on slots

thanks for all the positive comments guys. you've got me all fired up to spend as much of the weekend as I can down the workshop getting her ready for the mot. I'd love to take her to wheels day but not going to count on it, just try damn hard. I'll get some pics of whats going on and post them as soon as. cheers guys ;D

Black light surroundings to match the grille and a bit more rake and it would look evil, although it already looks great.

gave the old girl a good service today. changed the plugs, points condensor, cap, rotor arm, leads and got her running, intending to warm her up for an oil change but she keeps melting the plastic bit of the points. possibly because the thread is knacked in the dizzy so letting the points close and get hot. nightmaresracing has got another dizzy at home and is taking it to the workshop in the morning. the plan for tomorrow is to get her running ok so she can be moved easily in and out then repair/replace the gearbox mount that got clumped last week when putting her away. the gearbox is hanging down about an inch and I cannot get 2nd or 4th. curse word!! I'm not too hopeful for wheels day at the moment, never mind.

done a few hours at the workshop Thursday evening. repaired the gearbox mount that had ripped out of the gearbox when pushing her in the weekend before. luckily we had one attached to a chevette xmember.(sorry spike, needs must an all that!). went back this afternoon and finished off the service as she will run quite happily. so oil change done. then we had a big rearrange of the workshop so mark NMR can get the estate in for a transplant. later I stripped the front brakes down to find out what was wrong with them. they hold on sometimes and snatch like crazy to the left. found the pads cooked and glazed better than Jamie "Big tongue nob" Oliver could ever do!! probably from the 2 mile tow to the workshop by a 2 ton shogun, nasty. too late to go and buy any, I ground the pads down on the brick wall and put then back just to see if they still pulled. took her up the road and she pulled up dead straight. happy days. but the front end judders a bit so probably warped the discs. new discs as well as pads and thats the brakes sorted. next week is patching the sill's up, then its just 4 tyres and book an MOT. ;D ;D
