As above. Say your main beams work when driving at night down a dark country line, but don't work if you wish to flash somebody for whatever reason. Besides that the headlamps/beams work as normal.
An owner's club claims that it is not a requirement since most cars back from previous years did not have a flashing switch.
What's your verdict? It's for the 1973 MGB GT. It seems to have a new stalk fitted sometime in the past (it's a tight stalk, probably one of the tighter stalks that I have seen), but I guess having silly number of amps running through it doesn't help.
