oh I do anyway... believe me contemplating the unthinkable at the moment... selling my Split panel and getting a really sorted SEC which I'll convert to LPG and bag really need something I can use for school run through the winter but is still a lot of fun... been surviving with shared daily hack but will need a car everyday soon

I wouldn't go LPG,.. they are gradually raising the price until its going to be the same as having normal petrol. Bagging is still a good idea,.. Got that daily driver but interesting problem that I've got. I also contemplated a big old Merc (stacked headlight model),.. but fuel bills frighten the life out of me

I had a 3 litre E Class and it wasn't too horrific on fuel. I'd only use it to go to school... which is about 1.5 miles then on to college (at 37 I'm going back to college again for another four years) which is about 3 miles and then home... so very low weekly mileage. We have a Toldeo for driving any distance but hardly ever leave the area anyway I take your point about LPG... but it'll take a lot of tax increases to cost as much as petrol and you can buy it untaxed and unlike diesel no one can tell you're using untaxed. I like the older ones too... you can get SLCs for less than £1000 which need a little work... that's astonishingly cheap.

62 Panelvan... imported from Australia myself. Very much doubt I'd ever sell it really. Just have that constantly frustrating desire to buy cars (don't we all). Being customised bit by bit and has great potential... has never been restored. But is pretty beaten up.

Now, I'm not in to Mercs so I don't know what an SEC is, but where I come from it stands for Southern Electric Company - so you've got an LPG Grey and Blue transit towing a bright yellow reel of cable..............?

I like long walks, especially when they're taken by people I don't like.

I'm customising it a bit too... maybe baging it and considering it's a genuine never been welded RHD baby... i won't be letting it go for less than a lot but I think I may have to be burried in it but if you ever want to sell the SEC with the LPG and hydros... can I have first shout ;D
