Up for sale is my dad's daily driver. We converted it to LPG 4 years ago and it has performed great on the system requiring very little attention over the years. It has been a faithful car to us for 4-5 years.
Exterior is pretty tidy for the age. It is lacking the stonechips that you would associate with this car but it's not free of them. It has one slight crease on the C Pillar, and a slight dent on the door (again a crease). All round it's pretty decent with the tyres all having good tread including the spare.
It is on a Zavoli Sequential system with a toroidal tank fitted in the boot, so no ugly tanks or lost space on display.
Interior is again very good. Not much wear inside bar the driver's seat having a 1" tear in the bolster, and the steering wheel having the leather coming off, as well as a shiny gearknob.
Drivetrain is very good. Gearbox is crunch and whine free, it has 4 newish dampers and springs all round (2 Genuine Ford dampers and springs on the rear fitted last year, 2 new front dampers and springs put on this year. It also has the Powerflex rear Subframe bushes, so no more bushes to wear out there. Drop links are new all round.
Engine is ok. It pulls ok but now and again it will smoke slightly on the overrun. On a run you won't notice it, but if in town and not moving for a while it will chuck out the occasional puff. It does however have a brand new Inlet manifold (revised design) which are very prone to going on these if unchanged and can finish off an engine by it injesting the manifold flaps.
AC still blows ice cold and the climate control works without fault.
It does however have 375,000 miles on it (although besides the small engine issue it does betray those miles in most aspects), with a FFSH up to 70,000 miles. Beyond that we have serviced the car with the garage doing certain bits.
Just to Summarise:
-Second Owner from new
-375,000 miles
-Registered to DVLA as Bi-Fuel car. Cheaper tax and exempt from Congestion charge.
-MOT to July
-Tax to August
-Zavoli Sequential Gas Matrix system with 68L tank
-FFSH up to 70,000 miles, MOTs/various receipts kept
-New dampers/springs/drop links all round
-Powerflex Rear Poly Subframe bushes
-Discs/pads recently renewed
-New rear brake caliper and handbrake cables
-Recent oil change/HT leads renewed
-Revised Inlet Manifold with oil separator changed in mid 2008.
-New Alternator
-Fuel pump changed a year ago.
-New Washer bottle pump
I would like around the £1200 mark for this car. Whether you want to break it for parts (manifold and Climate stuff will sell very easily considering they are fault free) or drive it as a reliable daily is up to you.
Pics will come as soon as I get my camera back from my mate on holiday (tomorrow).
