My mates just got himself a Beetle. He quite liked the look of this one at RCS this year. He wants some of those wheels, question is what are they? (Make, Diameter, Width, Etc) Anyone info would be good for him. I'm no help as i'm watercooled boy. Cheers.

They are Erco's. Not sure about sizes available etc, but they are pretty much made to order Contact Paul @ VWSpeedshop in Manchester. I know he gets in big shipments in common sizes. Usually in 16's. Fronts are often tiny (3 inch i think) and rears about 6 inch. Speak to Paul to get the proper info though www.vwspeedshop.co.uk i think

Keefy - Your motor look sweet as !
As i say i'm a watercooled man but after looking at that one (and the white one, looked the same-ish) i thought about the switch. I'd have to cure that annoying rattle from the back ! LOL ! (. . . Sorry!)
I'm loving this forum

I'm sure you can get ERCO's in other PCD's apart from aircooled VW you know... here's a type 3 on them: Nice wheels, but they're getting a bit over done (IMHO, obviously)

it is simply not possible to overdo Erco's! Not sure how suitable they are for daily use? I think you can get them in different grade's of weight, i.e. ultra light for track use or in a heavier guage for street use, basically defo available in any width/offset and stud pattern. Alex

Perhaps your friend would be OK with a set of (much cheaper) Centerline replicas? Also, is your mate's Buf 4 or 5 stud? IMO Ercos lose a little of their appeal in 4 stud guise.

i've heard erco's are not recommended for street use due to the weight or something, they're too easily knocked out of balance?
a cheaper way to get the same look would be to pick some Centerlines up and polish them. i agree with rmad in that the wide-5's (top pic) look a hell of a lot better than the 4 studs on the T3....

He's quite set on a set of Erco's and having seen it today, there a nice fat 5 stud. While i'm here - again - if I was going to have one it would have to look something like this . . . . . You could spend hours on www.busselecta.com/ doing up all those different rides !
