Could it be, or at least in the location it's in at present, Dunsfold Park Aerodrome. Planners want to build an Eco town here, which is in the middle of the country side, so eco I doubt it as everyone would rely on their cars to get about news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/7933192.stmwww.sdpnt.com/

Can't see it happening tbh. Surely commerce > residential as far as the council are concerned? Bloody stupid though, aye - lol.

Wait.. what are the demonstrating against now then??
"The plans were turned down following massive local opposition and objections from Horsham and Chichester councils, both in West Sussex, and Guildford council in Surrey."
They already won...!?

There's a few of these eco-towns earmarked, none are happening soon so I wouldn't worry.
Most have furious resident with banners "eco-con" etc as has already been pointed out, most will have no employment and no transport link improvements aside from a token roundabout or two.
I honestly think if housing is in such short supply we should build another Milton Keynes or similar, but with a mono-rail/tram etc. Then it would create employment and housing etc and solve it's own transport issues. People winge about destruction of green spaces but we have something daft like 87% of the population living in 12% of the land. I honestly think we could stand to lose a few empty fields.

Its not the building of the town that is non eco-friendly, it's the fact that its easy to create 3000 home, but very difficult to create 3000 new jobs to go with them, meaning that everybody would have to commute anyway.
