i have just bought (and promptly fitted) a 1.75in SU (HIF44) - it has all the usual take offs - servo / oil breather etc... but. there appears to be 2 fuel inlets ?? one highr than the other and on the same side... I'm thinking that one may be a fuel return as this carb was used on the metro turbo setup which had a return . . . any help, as always, appreciated. ;D

Block it up was that a serious answer ? sorry to be dumb. heres the actual carb its the one that the pipe is on . . . i guess it looks like the last person just vented it to the floor ! ?

I reckon its a vent thing for if the needle sticks and the float chamber overfills. I'd vent it to the floor also. only there for 'emergencies'.

It was semi serious. The one the pipe is on is the breather from the float chamber and needs to be vented to the atmosphere The one below it is the fuel inlet The one on the right is to do with the crank breather arrangement and should be blocked up.
