Well, Just as I thought I had the MGB sorted (welding a mate has attended to as mine decided to get a dodgy gas valve, and the wire feed is on the curse word, but he's qualified, so he obviously did a neater job than I currently can), other things are becoming a pain.
The Brake hoses are putting up a bit of a fight in the calipers (I may get recon ones from the MGB Hive considering that these calipers haven't really done much over the last 7 years), so that issue may be avoided.
However, the N/S Trunnion Pin/Bolt is putting up a bigger fight. I put heat and releasing agent onto the pin, and despite me taking a sledgehammer to the pin (hammer is as tall as I am up to my waist), it still refused to come out of the damper.
I then chopped most of it off, but again, the bit that is stuck is still giving me grief! Below is one side I did earlier:
And now is what is stopping me from doing the other side:
Again, I've tried heat (only a blowtorch I admit, but I don't have access to an Oxy Settling torch ), and a hammer with a punch but it's still refusing to come out.
The only other option I can see is to drill the remainder out, but considering that it seems to be welded into the suspension arm, I am worried that I make end up wrecking the arm (drilling the hole too big) when the arm itself is in pretty much perfect condition.
So what I want to ask is, what other ideas can you come up with before I annihilate the Lever arm?
