I bought myself a "barn condition" Mobylette a while ago with a seized engine and sundry other bits missing. Last week I saw a Raleigh Runabout on the 'Bay that I thought would do as spares to sort the Moby out. I picked it up yesterday by meeting the seller at the vintage bike jumble at the Bath and West Showground, which was also a good excuse to have a look round Having got it home it's more complete than the Moby and I think it's probably too good to use for bits so it looks like I've got 2 mopeds now. His & hers It's been brush painted at some point and the chrome's looking it's age but it's not too bad. Tried starting it today, it's got good compression and a spark but it won't run. Just keeps flooding so I'll have to look at the carb later. It has no logbook so I'll have to apply for one and hope it can be registered. Anyway, the photos:

Cool beans! If you haven't already, check out the NACC. Looks like they know what they're doing when it comes to registering old'uns too.

I have a 1968 Raleigh Runabout. I got it from the tip 17 years ago for £8 ( never did pay my old man back ) I have done it up 2 times now but I have 1 prob. DVLA say they don't know the reg. it was last taxed in 1977 what can I do ?
oh I have to do it up again as just like the last 2 times its got over spray all over it ( looks like a funky camo paint job lol )
I did save it from my spray shop and now it sits in my old mans shead. so if any of you guys could pm me info to help me get a long awaited v5 that would be very very good and I can see my dream of the best part of 17 years back on the road.
oh by the way the reason I love my ped so much is that it is a 2 seater Runabout with front suspension with drum front brake. I have never seen 1 like it. just 1s like the pic at the top of the page.

wth? How did you strip off the green paint so cleanly? It's 2 different bikes. One's a green Mobylette, the other's a white Raleigh.....
