I like long walks, especially when they're taken by people I don't like.

I reckon a mesh-covered intake in the floorpan (NACA duct...my favourite flavour of duct ) would be great - keep it stealthy. I mean the Turbo's hidden, keep it all hidden ;D *n

thanks for the compliments all that work is being kept hidden. The shell will basically look stock, and most of the chassis setup will be hidden. the interior paneling will be on fasteners though, so its all removable. You wont be seeing any scoops or ducts though. They arent my cup of tea, not for the style I'm going for. they are better suited to cars with a greater racecar influence. hopefully i should be popping down again in a fortnight and we'll be ready to mock everything up with wings and wheels!

that really is fan bloody tastic mate, lovein the very original turbo placement. They are normally sticking out of the boot lid on beetles (and imps ) what kinda power are you looking at for that setup? Is it giong to be carb or injection? wheres the intercooler gonna go??? cheers J

whos dave - thanks mate, to say you have one of the previous photos as ur desktop is a real compliment! I'm blown away actually!
Mr Blowimp - i hate the way most beetle mods are done. With wheels edging out the rear arches, and decklid standoffs etc. Thats why ive messed around with the rear so much (its also narrowed about 3 inches.) Paul Hamilton runs a very similar setup in his 9 sec beetle - I'm pretty sure she'll be good for over 300bhp quite comfortably. We'll see. Either way its going to be an eye opener! You can see the intercooler in pic 2 (its all removable on tabs) and then on pic 4 how it sits with the shell on. Oh, its fuel injected as well.

Awesome stuff! Must suggest something similar to my brother Luke, he's just got his '67 grey Beetle on the road but it's a standard 34bhp! ;D

once chris is finished, hopefully within 2/3 weeks, all thats to do is a small amount of bodywork and then mock it all up, take it to bits again, paint, then final build. I will be doing some of the bodywork, then the mockup, and myself and a few mates will put the thing together at the end. I needed to get others involved cos I'm not going ANYWHERE near the electrics!

The box is a porsche 915 and built by Neil Bainbridge at BS Motorsport. The motor's a 2276, turbo and F.I. Very similar to Paul Hamiltons. these are the rims. Pure porn, they are a work of art.
