I b'lieve the Daytona reps are modified in appearance, partly because the originals were slightly odd, but mainly because Mr Shelby was quite keen on dropping lawsuits on them apparently. I built a website for one rep maker, the car was drop-dead flippin' lovely. Vid hereThese are a bit nice, even though it contains the F word: 250 GTO, SWB

absolutely nothing I would change on a shelby daytona I was well and truly in the 'everything is better with wheels and a slam' camp, but you I think you just proved me wrong. I'll agree with that.. wheels and a slam not needed! However - if it was mine, I'd want shinier side exit exhausts..

This is an EXCEPTIONALLY difficult thread to reply to but I've picked my nose brain as hard as I can and I bring you these... Lotus 11: Jaguar D Type: Mercedes 300SL, gull wing or roadster: Ferrari F40: It's hard to find a picture of a real one but a 427 Cobra in original trim takes some beating: In fact, have another picture of one: Always loved the lines of a Ferrari 250 GTO but I could fill the holes at the front: And, naturally, there's not much you could do to a Bentley Blower:

I'm with J69 on the F40. Don't think I'd do anything with one mechanically or otherwise even though the pics of modded ones I've seen look cool. Surely that top Pantera has been lowered and wheeled Stiff! Not sure there's much I'd do with this ATS

De Tomaso PanteraNothing else needed Roll as is. That's spooky - I was just looking for Pantera pictures as well.... I love em! When I was much younger I was driven around Brands by an old ex RAF pilot at a charity do in one - totally fell in love with that car. I definitely prefer them without the spoilers though...

if you look closly at the maz it has got more than just a hint of ac cobra about it but i'd take a cobra over that any day looks wise For serious? Each to their own, obviously, but I reckon that car is as near perfect as can be, and considerably better than the (already very good) Cobra. I find the maser quite ugly :-) the front end is vulgar

Absolutely perfect as it is Ferrari 246GTS You can't improve on perfection. Not the fastest/rarest Ferrari of all (in fact some purists say that with that Fiat-derived V6 it's not a true Ferrari at all). But for me, simply the most beautiful car ever made.

They can all be improved on, its personal taste afterall! Personally i think Shelby daytona's and Ferrari 250SWB's cant be improved upon MUCH, they are pretty close to being perfect to me! The daytona posted earlier is a replica from a company called Factory Five (who are currently being sued funnily enough by Caroll Shelby for design infringement). They use a Jaguar XJS screen and are to be honest very different from the originals. And of the originals EVERY one (6 or so) were different, roof lines differed as they made them in two different factories( uk and italy!)...etc etc. As a side note on that, one driver, I forget if it was Bob Bondurant or Dan Gurney, preferred one daytona over the rest as it was built in Italy with a higher roof (they took some "artistic license" in building it) as he was a tall fella! I love the originals, here's the "lost daytona"

they made them in two different factories( uk and italy!) No. There were 6 originals. The first one, CSX2287, the one which was "lost" in storage, was built 100% in Venice California USA at Shelby American's shop. The man who did the hand-made aluminum fabrication work, Phil Remington, is as legendary as designer Pete Brock. The remaining 5 bodies were built on order of Shelby in Italy using Remington's body bucks. Two more partial bodies were "made", but they were never raced.

Of all the people here I wondered if it would be you to correct my memory! Damn memory!
From memory it was one of the Italian built bodies that was the taller of the cars?
