middle one looks like the air/fuel mixture screw, top one does not look like the idle adjustment, but then again that could be just the picture.
if you have to drain the carb, that means the floats are stuck open, you have to take off the bottom of the carb, or take a chance and just gently tap the bottom side of the carb to unstick em.

Has the fuel tap been replaced (usually on the underside of the fuel tank), I had the same problem with my old gilera Ice. the fuel tap was fooked & just let fuel flow into the carb which caused it to flood, I'd check the flost function as well whilst you're at it though.

afternoon all, up date on the moped,
ive now painted it matt black and it looks 1000 times better.
I'm also looking at a polini sport 70cc cylinder kit from pm tuning. but it says id need to adjust the carb, would it be better to fit another carb from another ped? which one would be the best to use?
pics to follow

Most other moped will also have tiny tiny carbs fitted, best you try and find an expert to sort you a carb/ reed valve/ top end and exhaust all in one go. you will find that everything will restrict it if you just fit a 70cc top end kit. and then the CVT gearbox will need modding if you don't want it to over rev at 40mph and bog off the the line at traffic lights.

random question ..... what are variator rollers for?
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
hmm how to describe.. i think, the weight of the rollers affect the change of the gearing, once the auto clutch is out, from there until max gearing is reached, that is the range of what the rollers affect. for example heavy ones, will change up the gearing sooner good if you have a lighter bike and lots of low end torque lighters ones, will change later, allowing a high revving engine to reach it's peak power and hold it until max gear is reached.
you can't just go for the lightest one, because the engine will over rev past it's peak power and won't go very fast. so lots of experimentation to get the gearing in the sweet spot for proper acceleration. good thing there cheap eh?
hope that made sense, got a better idea of your plan in your head yet?

that made perfect sence, cheers mate.
I'm just having a bit of troble trying to get my head around, variators and speed controls carbs and reeds
and wondering if i could benifit from making a straight thru exhaust at work?

maybe with out the silencer it might be faster, but all two-stroke need and expansion chamber to work at all. A straight thru exhaust will only explode things. A nice expansion pipe along with a little gearing change (to allow for the increase of rev's and raised torque point) would i think be your best bet.

been taking bits off today to try to find the resricters and it looks like someones beat me to it so I'm happy there. looking at making a custom expansion chamber with a bit of pipe.

oh ok thanks to them too.
been looking at expaintion chambers today, are they just a bit of large pipe in the middle of the standard exhaust? or do they have baffles in?

For the back I'm guessing? Not too sure, if they don't fit then make them. ;D
