My mates got an MR2, and he want to fit afterburner lights, (ferrari style), does anyone know where to get them, and how much they are... (i've got a feeling the mark 1 mantas had them...but i could be wrong)
p.s. we're always argueing about what MR2 stands for, i thinks its mid-engined rear wheel drive 2 litre and my mates thinks its mid-engined racer 2, who right, if anyone?

Sounds like a right "Barry" modification to me. Kick your mate in the nuts until he sees sense. As for the name, www.mr2.com give the following options:

Afterburner lights? Aren't those the Lexus style ones with the clear bits? I wouldn't have thought those would suit an MR2, although what mark of MR2 are we talking about?

Sounds like a right "Barry" modification to me. Kick your mate in the nuts until he sees sense. hehe, he's not really a retro fan, but the end of it on the curse word and crooked, (previous owner was rear ended), so he needs to sort that out, and re-designing the , mr2 turbo spoiler, and a bit of a sculpting will be cheeper than cutting the whole back end off and replacing it, so he wants the new light for the new look. Don't think hes gonna go as far as this guy, but this is worth a look, you gotta give it to the bloke for effort... www.flack1.f9.co.uk/projectferrari/progress.html

alright mate. what sort of lights is he after? is it a mk1 and did they come as standard on any othe sort of model? if its a mk2 then then they had an " lift" somewhere throught the production so the rear light segments werent blocks of colour they were more rounded off and seperated. the below pics show. if its a mk1 then I'm sure i may be able to find out at work. or something non standard like theses. available from www.kandkonline.co.uk/shop/product.php?productid=19298&cat=254 there! robin
