Because of the closeness of the radiator enclosure i wouldnt be able to remove the spring shackles, so i have to alter the top pivot to a bolt that can be withdrawn through the wheelwell fitted a new cill end section Then started on the major rust around the bootlid opening Then with my shrinker / stretcher

Good lights them but sometimes it seems to adversely react with the welding mask and all goes black just when i'm about to start a weld Anyway made a plenum (posh description of a box) over the rad which will seal to the rear panel I was about to weld these side pieces in place with just the lid removable when i noticed that i wouldnt be able to remove the rad in future. Will now make the whole unit removable Cut holes in the rear panel, bent lips inwards on one, still to do the other , these will stiffen the panels and allow fixing points for the two mesh inserts Whats going on with the size of these pics, ?? How can i reduce the size in photobucket anyone

Good progress There is a setting somewhere in the photobucket upload bit, it's gone really slow on me so I can't find it now . You should be able to go back to each photo and resize them in the edit function aswell.

Thanks sowen, have tried that, but it wont allow me to resize. These last two pics were taken with the camera at a higher resolution so maybee that was the cause all along Grills in rear panel, these will be painted black with the rear panel and the number plate will be fixed over these, but set away from the panel to allow airflow out

Al, you could always spray the mesh black and stencil the numbers over it in white??

Great minds think alike Ian.
Plan A was to spray a white or yellow number plate size oblong then fit the old style black raised digits
Plenty of time to think that one out
Is your cortina on together and on the road at the moment ??

Hi Al, I had to sell the cortina about 15 months ago due to ill health. I don't know how the car is, but the fella who bought it was doing little bits on it, I do miss it, Ian
