Just recieved this from the horses mouth,.. as it were,..
ractical Performance Car will cover cars from the 60s to the 90s, the main point being that they have to be real world cars, not £30k plus exotica. So we'll be covering everything from MGBs, Escorts etc to cars that are bargains today, like Porsche 928s and Nissan 300ZXs. If it's quick (or can be made to be) and affordable then it's in. We'll have a large hands-on technical section featuring stuff like how to make your own throttle bodies, building your own dry-sump system etc. The idea is to show readers how to make stuff like this without spending a fortune.
We published a supplement with Practical Classics last year called RPM. It went down a storm but Emap, the huge firm that owns Practical Classics didn't want to launch RPM because they said it might only sell 20,000 copies a month. So two of us left (me and Kevin Leaper), got Dave Walker from CCC involved and set up on our own. We're a small company of petrolheads and we need any support we can get.
Sounds exciting.
