Having a bit of a clearout in the garage now I've sold my Mk2 and got a few spare bits. My location is Cheshire.
1. Complete 1.8L 16v 'KR' engine. £100.
This was the original from my Mk2, had done about 140k miles and I'd recently changed the HG on it before I upgraged to a 2.0L. Ran great, recorded 148bhp / 124lbsft at Stealth Racing as I recall. Cams and tappets are removed at the moment but I have them in the garage. I used to have a Mk1 with one of these engines fitted and it went like a rocket so nice for a Mk1 project or Mk2 replacement.
2. Mk2 16v '2Y' rod change gearbox. £75.
I bought this a few years ago from a mate and swapped it into my Mk2, worked nicely with no crunches but then it developed a leak on one of the driveshaft seals as I recall. I swapped my old 'box back in and never got round to replacing the seal on this one, which I should have done as this 'box was much better really!
So, I'd advise swapping the driveshaft seals and you might as well do the pushrod seal and brass bush too for peace of mind as they are only a few quid.
