Yeah it looks pretty standard, but it's caged, and by the 5 stud wheels, and wide track on the front I'd guess it's either a VR6 or 20VT and possibly syncro?

I estimate that golf was running about 450bhp, was smoking all four like a good'un off the start line! I think it was hitting 10's too.
Only thing was it did not do the hillclimb, only the friday sprint.
I've decided the next one I go to will be in the alps in summer, maybe Italy or france?

Thought I would bump this up to the top, for some retro retro rides action, as it seems to be the season of road trip tales! I married Michelle, the girl who I went on this trip with. We now have two little ones Between us we have been through 22 cars since then, two houses and five jobs. Soon I will have the Celica done, and another european road trip will be undertaken J |

I've built cars for years (and admittedly taken years to build cars) so I was rather annoyed with myself after the first trackday in the Caterham..... For no other reason than "Why have I wasted so much time, effort and money so far" Seriously, I should have just borrowed the money and brought one years ago, its awesome. Rock solid residuals too (Which does actually matter when you get old and vaguely sensible) I know exactly how much the kadett has cost me, and its way more than the Caterham and its not even blasted and painted yet  Hopefully soon there will be something else I can report on it, but for now I`ll enjoy the running, working and comically capable, fast toy |

about to exchange on a Double Garage with a house in the grounds too so the Kadett will be coming home where I can work on it ((in between Ragging the Caterham senseless on trackdays that is) |
