Well, our company server hauler/maintenance wagon/tip run jockey is a P plate Grand Cherokee 4.0 Limited.
So I guess I do get to drive a retro for work too.

Yeah, I get to borrow cars from the Ford Heritage fleet from time to time to help Retro Ford, and of course, when I was on RF I got to drive old motors all the rime.
It's all new stuff on PF though, so my retro intake is limited. Just press cars and stuff now.

When I saw the title of this thread 'car versus job' I couldn't believe it as I thought someone had had a similar experience to me of literally CAR v JOB.
I recieved my first official written warning for having my 1983 Audi 80 parked in the work car park for over a year in various states of (dis)repair I.e primered/painted/no door handles/different sizes wheels either side/tarpaulin/un-buffed off polishing compound etc etc. My argument that they wouldn't have said anything if it was a three year old focus didn't hold much water!! Needless to say a hasty bolting back together ensued alowing me to keep my job. Sadly the car parking(storage) was my favourite part of the job................................

While I ran my lil' company from home I went to biz meetings in a '70 Mustang Mach 1, FB Victor w/V8, Amazons, various bikes inc 1260cc streefighter etc, whatever wheels were around. Worked well, folks tended to remember the bloke with the Mustang or whatever They were my only transport though so there was no choice involved of a modern daily.

I was working my way through one chaps collection of automata so it all got loaded in the back of whichever car it would fit in at the time. As he was in Notting Hill and I had to pay the C-charge to get to him thanks to Ken's expansion I'd take teh opportunity to cruise back through town

I work for myself, so my "company car" is whatever old nail I'm smoking around in at the time. It's fun turning up to business meetings in the Merc, it gets some odd looks amongst all the new Audi's and BMW's... Mostly positive interest though. I'm quite well known for arriving in "different" cars. ;D

i too am self employed, went to a meeting just before xmas for some up -coming work in the nissan ,other guys at the meeting arrived in brand new amg merc ,bmw x5 and recent landcruiser, all worth 30k ,the cars were parked in a busy area outside a site entrance in nottingham , the people admiring and remarking on the 'cedric' massively outweighed the attention being paid to the brand new amg merc in front of it!!!! retro rules!!!
