Just picked up a Ring E:Can 12V to 240V inverter for the campervan, which was reduced from £24.99 to £6 . Also unlike other inverters, this one can fit in the cup holder of your car . Asked the staff, and its a nationwide discount, not just at our local store AutoExpress review here..... www.autoexpress.co.uk/products/products/211665/ring_ecan.html

Might get one for my van! Then I just need to sort a cigarette lighter. And a cupholder...

Slightly off topic, But i have to say that retro rides banner is dead clever! It knows what we're on about all the time. Never seen one to that before! I go on a thread with the word Cortina and i get cortina adverts on ebay. This thread has just brought up "Quasar electronics, the inverter superstore" How cools is that!
Sorry.... just impressed by that!

^^ I wouldn't be... why do you think we get gay dating ads every time people mention rims and slamming? No luck in local tescos, gonna try the extra in durham tomorrow.

To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in

That sounds bargainous. As Tesco insist on building one of their stores every 300 yards or so, I should be able to find one that stocks them.
However all my cars are "pre-cupholder", cars made at a time when real men held their boiling hot coffee between their legs... ;D

I would love one, can't find any near me though... Anyone willing to pick one up and post it to me for a tenner?

Beware that these things aren't that powerful, but work fine for chargers etc. I had a woman return one (to Halfords) because it "didn't work with anything she tried"
The items she tried on it were: Convector Heater Fan Heater Kettle Halogen Work Light
I spent about ten minutes trying to explain electrical power to her, to no avail.

yea the 75W ones are just good for charging and table lamps, the 150w can scrape enough energy to power a laptop, although starts screaming for power when the voltage on the battry drops below 12W.

I've got an 800w inverter which can cope with travel kettles etc. cost me about 35-40 quid from Amazon or somehwere similar. Argos used to do one for £30 but i think they're double that now
