windscreen and door looks like a 900, and the grille opening looks 900ish when the bumper grille/air dam is off.

I know it's going to be a 'spectacle' but would they not just be better off just donating the money they wasted on the 'car' directly?

Yeah I saw a bit of this episode, they chopped up a nice 900 and made another monstrosity/death trap.

I know it's going to be a 'spectacle' but would they not just be better off just donating the money they wasted on the 'car' directly? I get the feeling they didn't have to pay much, and the auctioneers waived their fee when they heard what was to happen. I think they will make more money for the charity this way. And if they hadn't bought it, someone else would have stripped and scrapped it instead. Ok, its not the most positive of ideas, about on a par with the oval circuit of doom, but at least the car gets a last blaze of publicity before its inevitable horrible death, and the sole benefactor of the funds is a good cause.

I reckon they would have made more money for charity if they had instead built a very cool car in memory of the car loving Brad, and then raffled it with the proceeds going to charity. You know, something based on a positivity about cars rather than caveman-esque "ugh! we no like! We smash with hammers"... Once again though... this thread is getting binned with the other one.
