Sooo overdue an update, apologies. Alot has happened since July 2017 - including buying a new car - but here are the key events as far as this wee beastie is concerned: In September 2017 my wife and I went to the International 02 Treffen at Lelystad, Netherlands, along with a strong UK 02 contingent. There is a drag event as well as an autosolo and the 02forum.co.uk always puts in a decent showing for the former. This year was no exception with Dave Gamble taking 3rd in his M2 (s14 in an 02=M2) My wingman for the trip was Ian Elliot in his gorgeous 3502 Touring (yep, an m30b35 in a bloody 02 body = madness!) I sold my daily 330d in March 2018 as Mrs Knobstar decreed that thou shalt no more than 2 automobiles posess. This was just following the arrival of this ere E3: a 2500 with a 3 litre conversiob that had spent its life in Sweden: The upshot of this decree was that the white car we affectionately refer to as 'Dickhead' was now the daily driver whilst I made the E3 UK roadworthy! Apart from the odd cold morning and a few split fuel hoses Dickhead was a flawless commutermobile. In the hotter months i took out over 20 people from work to give them a taste of our retro addiction. Needless to say many many smiles were had! I also weighed the car during the summer and was alarmed at the result. A serious diet (and more power!) are planned for 2o19:

After a few months apart I was starting to miss that daft, gurning grin. A trackday at Mallory was organised by Javelin and the price was just too tempting. Aside from a full spin at devil's elbow and a couple of mild tickings off about noise, Dickhead took a beating all morning whilst delivering smiles and adrenaline in spadefuls. I can dice with a mildly prepped clio 182 or Toyota 86 but beyond that he needs a bit more poke and a bit more grip - in which order i don't know! Ultimately he did himself proud for a stock M44'd 02 on a changeable circuit at which the temp didn't get above 7C. Since then I have rested the car as I have got the aforementioned E3 roadworthy and reliable. Depending on what i have money to do with that will inform what I can do with this one: it will be a proper 4-2-1 exhaust or a custom inlet arrangement with new alpha-n mapping and throttle bodies. Hopefully i will remember to update soon! Brucey bonus is this little takeoff clip so you can hear what an no-cat m44 with a dodgy exhaust sounds/looks like in a slightly portly 02: drive.google.com/file/d/1bkRn7New_u_1BpTrJY0XT9F7qjkEXm_R/view?usp=drivesdk
