Well the car is back together and looking mint again ;D I'm taking it for its MOT on Friday at 11 so wish me luck. I'm still not 100% happy with the paint so if it passes on friday I'm going to pull all the lights/ glass ect out of it again and give it another coat - ive been experimenting with gun settings on some scrap and this i can improve on it. new big rad and header tank ally foam filled fuel tank (given to me by my Hot rod friend round the corner - aparently 6 gallons doesnt get you very far with a 5 litre twin turbo on Nos.) might just be able to see the turrets too. more proper pics to follow when its finnished. ;D

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Racer86 is a fugging hero! Reassembled the whole lot, MOT booked for day after tomorrow, and already planning to re-do the paint! Whirlwind!

Top grammar tips! Bought = purchased. Brought = relocated Lose = misplace/opposite of win. Loose = your mum

amazing - however i think by virtue of you actually getting work done at a decent rate and the finished product being excellent, you should be kicked off the board. it's clearly not in the spirit of retro-rides to actually have a finished product well done that man!

Excellent ;D Looking good, if your not happy with the paint then you can cut it back with 1200 - 2000 and Mop it if there is enough on there.... that will bring it up like glass I havent forgotten your measurements, they are buried in the back of Dads Shed at the moment ;D Cheers Dom

Dude, how do you find enough time to do all this work? Are you some kind of robot?
Top work mate, I gave up on my project when I found holes in the roof and the bulkhead rotting out from inside. One less 1275GT in the world.
Can I have your blue Chevette? ;D

Where you gonna put the spare wheel??? There`s a feckin` great fuel tank in the way ;D A few coats of lacquer will sort the paint finish out, it takes alot of practice/skill to get a top class finish straight out of the gun. Not enough, & you can strike matches on it, too much, & you get the sags!

trust me the picture makes it look mint but its not, the sump plug came out of my compressor and i didnt notice had to finnish it off with low pressure as the bottom end was knocking! the orange peel on the roof was a mill deep! a few places have rubbed through and othre places its a bit thin. I have rubbed it down with everything from 600 (it was that bad) to 2000 and polished it but am not happy.
Thanks for all the comments, ive only managed to get it done so quick as I'm only working 2 nights a week so have all week to play. If its not on the road by the end of next week ill cry!

Just give it a quick blow over then, after all that sanding it should be pretty close
