We picked up this trailer from freecycle a year or so ago. Seemed silly to let it get thrown away. Borrowed the wheels of the trailer tent to get it home - Katie got it on the way home from work swapping wheels on some dark driveway before hitching it up to the Saab with a trailer board bungeed on the back! An inspection next day showed it to be pretty knackered so I took it to pieces and its sat up the side of the house until a month or so ago. One of the wheel bearings was shot and the wooden sides totally rotten but it was worth saving as the "floor" is steel so it will take a fair load - GR8 4 LUGGING TAT I picked up some free mini 10" steels with usable tyres a while back and put new wheel bearings on one side. Painted the frame with some shed-find black hammerite and got new ply in B&Q, transfering the ally strip from the old boards. I've done the boards such that the rear one slides in and am including a plug/socket at the rear so the wiring can be disconnected and the board removed to allow storage on its end and easier loading. I'm trying to make it all "old fashined" so the old broken plastic mudguards have been binned and new metal ones from Towsure fitted. Also found an old Lucas trailer board that I've cleaned and painted and will be fitting it with some old lights once I've decided what to use. So here's how it stands at the moment. and playing with layouts for the rear end

ive got one stashed at work made out of a german trailer tent... its got suspension like a fiat at the back with a single leaf spring across the middle and shockers all mounted on a monotube chassis.
moved from eastbourne to morton with it behind a 1300 astra. (4 trips) then from morton to pershore then again to where we are now..
needs a rebuild now as the floors have finally began to sag but then again that was 9 years ago and I only used 4mm marine ply (no it never got varnished either) t

Cool recycling there Seth, I guess the trick is to make sure you do not overspend..... My trailer, I had traded for a pair of axle stands and a Mars Bar, but it actually ended up costing me around £150.00, but still worth it, as I had fun doing it, and it has worked a fair amount the last year. This one: retrorides.proboards86.com/index.cgi?board=othrmod&action=display&thread=37965May well be picking up a Ford Cross Flow engine and ancilliaries this weekend. Trailers are always worth their weight in gold.... Fetched this This And the shed from B&Q Towbars and trailers Roolzzz

Cheers guys. I think it stands me at about £50. First task is probbaly going to be taking the Honda for its MOT! Got some engines/metal to wiegh in too. Should have sorted it out six months ago Bazz, not sure I can be bothered to go through all the green flake process again on these wheels. I'm half keeping my eye out for some cheap alloys though some home cobbled together moon discs might be cool too.

I am sure there is a thread on his bike as well, search this forum, and click on the top where the titles and authors are..... click on author, that puts it in alphabetic order, then skip pages to the "S's" and get to Seth. Finally got this finished! It was just needing lights really but I was hanging around until I found something that would look right. A combination of bits from Kevfromwales and other parts found at the NSRA swap meet yesterday meant I finally had a full set of little Lucas round lights. Fitted them to some mesh and wired all up together to a plug so that the rear board can be unplugged and removed from the trailer to aid loading. I checked all was working by plugging it straight in to the back of the Hillman. Ta da! The wood's all bleached, probably due to painting the water based treatment on in freezing temperatures so I'll probably give it another coat once it warms up properly. Anyhow, at least I can finally haul tat

Try marine ply, it should last longer.
Seth,
That's a great bit of work there!
