I found these show photos which I had been meaning to share for ages and now in the cold depths of winter is as good a time as any. These were taken at the Wymeswold Village Fete & Steam Show which is a good show in Leicestershire for the classic stuff. Its an odd "other world" experiance too. I got close to sunstroke it was so damn hot that day.
Enjoy...
Even the visitors are retro...
First up was the bike area, vintage and custom...
Then you come into the organ display area. Did someone get this approved by the vicar? [swoons]
No kidding, a lot of the smaller organs are home made ones too. Theres all manner of nutters out there, not just us!
From the name "steam show" you'd image there are steam engines on display. There are. And they do a display in an "arena" as well.
two very British rides...
and again
But mostly I was about the classic and vintage car displays. And the WI cake stall.
Dunno why they are called Deck Chairs, I only ever see them at car shows...

Small Fry tribute build time? Note the almost complete lack of an engine!
I have ideas for this one too. Kind of trad rod meets brit rod.
Moar of these should have been rodded too.
No, don't change a thing!
Perfect!
Its the filth!
Thats not a Vauxhall?
Outstandingly clean Acclaim has to be original. Who'd restore one?
Is this for real? We're in the sort of company who can afford the real ones
As the XK series engine hasn't changed measureably from like 1936 to 1990 I can say nothing?
But as it appears to be on an S plate I'll say fake.
Love these bull nosed early P4s. Want one with a Cyclops light.
One of the few MGs which gives me wood
Next up was the carry on camping exhibition.
YAH! RLY!
amongst the caravans and such were plenty of period tow cars to spy.

And a guy selling Nazi memorabilia in case anyone is planning on founding the Forth Reich here in the East Midlands.
And this guy had brought along his collection of Volvo truck tat. Takes all sorts.
Fair ground rides, now this would make an ace tot rod base!
Yeah, this is tractor country. A project for Street in this lot?
And in a big tent we had the model makers exhibition. Some of this stuff was amazing in its detail

Another guy enjoying playing with his organ in the sun shine
Peekaboo! I see you! Walk through!
Sodding enormous organ
Just WTF? A guy in the middle of a field with a tent, chainlink fence erected round it showing off his mowers. What could be more English?

Gentlemen, start your engines...
Dangerous business getting front wheel up on a minature steam engine, you can end up with a groin full of hot coals. Evil Kineval never had to risk that.
YAH!
Enjoy...
