Ive got my Audi 100 up and running after changing the head but cant seem to set it up properly. The dizzy needs timing up and the carburettor needs fettling. I have to confess that ive never done "tuning" before... Ive always left it to someone else to do!
Is there anyone near Stoke on Trent who can help out in exchange for beer tokens?
The engine is an 1800cc 8V 4 cylinder Volkswagen engine with a Keihin carb. At the moment theres flat spots and spluttering. Very annoying....
Can anyone help/advise?

keihin? Isnt that a japanese carb? My 1800 audi (80) had a pierberg which was nasty, and caused all sorts of amusing vacuum related trouble until I binned it and fitted digifant II off a golf GTI instead. Oh yeah, and the rubber isolating block/gasket splits, lets in air and eventually makes the carb fall off entirely. A new one was gonna cost more than the donor golf did, and that was 10 years ago.

I robbed the carb from an audi 80S from the local breakers. I thought it was a pierburg but after looking at the haynes manual its either a keihin or a pierburg as those are the only ones fitted to this model. Its deffo not a pierburg so it must be a keihin... It looks like a keihin atleast. Id never heard of them until I looked in the manual!
Ive got the handbook and a haynes manual so should have all the info needed.
Surely fitting the injection system from a gold GTI would be an unfeasibly huge amount of work?

news to me then. I've never seen a keihin on a VAG. plenty on hondas Fitting the injection was easy... I had to change the head for the inj one, but you already did this.... after that its jsut manifold, AFM and injectors (with the sub-loom and control box, of course) and the golf's pump/swirl pot cable tied in front of the tank. took me about an hour and a half ;D
