Ive got a set of lowering springs for my 1986 Audi 100 Avant, I'm hoping to fit them in the new year but while the front and rear suspension is in bits I may as well fit new shock absorbers too. The rears especially feel a bit worn out. Ive checked ebay and googled the net a few times but cant find anywhere that sells suitable shockers. The 5 cylinder models seem to be well catered for by parts for my 4 cylinder 100 are very hard to find!
Does anyone know of anywhere that caters for slightly obscure boring euro trash?

Shocks are the same, it's the springs that differ between the 5 and 4 cylinders. GSF or Euro Car Parts will do 'em.

Many thanks peeps! Id thought id already tried GSF and they didnt stock them. Ill go back and check it out! Joe, I'm all allegrod out at the moment so cant give a home to a new one. Besides I only buy them if they're £50 or under Just had a look at the GSF web site... when the quantity says "1" does that mean a single shocker or a single pair? I didnt thin you could buy them individually.

As from the other thread, a new set of shocks will make a world of difference to the car. Even on a car 4 years old, there is a tangible difference. As said, ECP I find stock a few more genuine OE bits regarding suspension bar lower arms. I think they used Sachs as standard. I know that they outlived the crappy Monroes anyway, and they are under £50 too. Word of warning though. In the Ka Klub and Escort IV OC, it was found that PI springs lowered lower than stated due to the springs being made of thinner steel than even a stock spring. As a result, they can snap (I remember one Ka owner going through 4 springs, when I was still on the first set of Eibachs (and what I sold the car with too). Whilst I know of many other cars being fine with them, I felt that I should warn you, but also do my best so as to not put damp weather into the mix. Either way, with decent dampers, and lowered springs, it should improve the handling and ride quality to no end. It certainly has on an 03 plate Mondy of ours, which wafts along the motorway now .

Ive googled PI springs and have heard many different opinions on them. Some recon they're absolutley terrible and others recon there actually pretty good and have had no problems with them. Ill stick mine on and if anything breaks ill simply get a drifferent brand. Got nothing to loose as they cost me next to nothing. Hopefully if one does break it will be while I'm loading shopping into the boot, not when travelling at speed on the motorway.

I'm sure they'll be fine...I've only heard stories, no personal experience!
