I saw this outside my work today,i dunno who owns it,but it looks like a "ute" that has been made into a convert ,and most of the interior looks like it was done in the 70's.All white leather etc.I couldn't gewt a pic of the front because it would have meant standing in the road.....and even i'm not that dum ;D Mk2 Zephyr..for those too young to know....or care ;D ;D

Many years ago I changed my driving style to cope with rising fuel prices; I have now reached the stage where I am contemplating keeping my eyes shut in order to lower wind resistance.

It doesn't look like a genuine convertible...the doors aren't long enough and I think the roof would have rear side windows. As for it being converted from a pick up, wouldn't that involve sourcing a bootlid/rear panel etc? It would make much more sense if it started as a saloon.

Right about the doors!,it's way to short to have been a sedan,or genuine convert, that's why i thought it was a Ute to start with.i'll keep my eyes open for it again and have a yarn with the owner. Covertible Zed cars were common in NZ when i was kid, usually driven by Elvis lookalikes,i had a school mate who had two Mk1's , ;D ;D ;D ;D

It looks genuine enough to me! The roof looks a bit crummy mind, not the right shape I think.

Doesn't the ute just use the standard four-door front doors? There would be no reason for Ford to change them?
