I had another memory stick come out of its case today, so I though I'd mount this one in some MDF. Drew out a plot path for the laser cutter and popped in a sheet of 4mm in much the same way as i did the clock case and all the acrylic gubbins. Some PVA, a little epoxy resin, some sanding and a quick coat of antique pine varnish (because its all i had) later:

Now make one out of Walnut. ;D
Great work.
You should get on one of these 'dragons den' type shitfests on the telly with all this inventing, surely better than having to try to educate spotty nonchalent disinterested little b*stards, anyway.

what about drilling a cavity in a housebrick and mounting a USB stick in there. now that would have office kudos. Use a really toss 256mb one FTW.

Very cool, although the use of a laser cutter seems a bit extreme! Would have saved you a lot of time marking and cutting it out though. If only I had one...

That's awesome!
I love the housebrick idea, too. Even better if it houses a puny 64 or 128 meg USB.

With a bocephus sticker on his 442, he'd light 'em up just for fun

Anyone know a cheap bulk supply of USB sticks? Either naked board and plug or just easily removable case. Small capacity is fine.
