OK, some photos left over from my trip to Silverstone Classic waaaay back in July was it? Blimey. Some photographic evidence that we did actually have a summer, at least for one day.
Lets start with some modern BTCC type stuff which was parked up
And then take a peek in the garages....
"Oi, what you looking at?"
pit crawl....
All forms of classic saloon involved from a Mini to a Jag
And of course, lots of Fords...
and some small fry...
You know, I think I'm going to just let the pictures do the talking for a bit until I hit some smartarse comments I need to make, OK with the rest of y'alls?
Lotus in not white with green stripe shocker!
Is it actually possible to get bored of seeing race prepped Mustangs?
Have a Falcon to break up the dreary monotony of all that OOOF
Real engines have 16 valves.
two per cylinder....
the chap with this car was a really nice guy, talked to us for ages.
So he gets an extra photo entry.
3 cars and not one working indicator between them
old school ford, yeah, you know it.
So after much wandering around the pits in the heat going "oof oof oof" they start firing up and lining up...
ready for the off chaps?
I got so excited I thought I might wee myself.
Chap in the blue top making the internationally recognised signal for "sorry, I just dropped my guts" to the guy in the Cortina.
AND THEY'RE OFF....
Mustang getting a little RWD DRIFT YO! already. Not the only one. A couple of them and the Cortinas were getting some serious sideways. Did ONE of them come out in focus? PAH!
On his way back from a blag, probably
And this guy was DER WINNAH. The Mercury might seem an odd choice but its basically the same car as a Falcon but with a longer wheelbase, so all the Falcon goodness but in a more stable package. he was throwing it round with some dexterity too. WINNAH
Retro colour ballance job too.
And then back into the pits.
Now I never saw this race, more's the pity. If you have 5 minutes you should google Jerry Titus, Terlingua Racing and such... I understand this car is the real deal.
And back for some Falconry
Oh, I suppose I should have said earlier, this thread isn't very 56K friendly, yeah?
