	Well a 6.00 is 6 inches in cross section, an 8.00 is 8 inches, etc. The profile is always 100% i.e. the same height as the width. A radial equivalent for these would be 152.4/100x16 and 203.2/100x16. Except of course there's no such size! The original width of rim for a 6.00 would probably only be about 4". I reckon 5 1/2" would be ok.

	thanks for the info and the offer the tyres you have a defo to narrow as the wheels I'm using are 7"wide bead to bead so i will need to be in the 750-825 range. L :oN
