Right, as usual when I buy something new (err old) I have an abundant array of plans for it. So wide and varied in fact that it confuses and annoys me to the point of distraction. As I've learnt in the past, you can never have enough suggestions to fine tune or change an idea... As some of you may know I bought this the other week, because it was posted on here, (mental note to self - and I wanted it of course.) So, for a start you can keep the engine standard, sorry but no swaps (I've got enough of those causing headaches at the moment) and insurance is a problem for my partner (age) as she'll end up driving it a lot. Lowering is obviously the way forward, unless you fancy this bad boy... And I'm loving these... ... but aside from that I wouldn't want to darken your thought processes with my dire and perverted ideas. Go, go gadget retro riders...

I like long walks, especially when they're taken by people I don't like.

Wow, great purchase!!! How about some mild Bosozouku treatment? I reckon the Scoob would lend itself nicely to that look. PS: Those are the biggest pics EVER! ;D ;D

Yeah, realised after I posted I didn't resize them.. A consequence of buying a new digi camera that produces hoooge images and finding a new picture host that doesn't seem to mind them being that large (xs.to - if anybodies interested). Sorry about that...
keep 'em comin...

Some very wide, VERY polished rims.
A serious whack with the stick.
And that's it. Nothing else. There's such a lovely 'patina' on that car that anything else would be daft.

Congratulations on buying this wierd beastie. That take some serious balls. I'd go with the rake look myself (in homage to both the brat and road scrapers!)
Nice shape and I'm well pleased someone onhere has bought it!

Good thinking NickB, the patina isn't as good as it looks though, as it's rather scabby in areas rather than nicely aged. It's not respray territory, but I'm liking your thinking.
Oh and Mr Cherry, I haven't got serious balls. Just an acute ability to justify anything to myself should I need to... ie when I saw it on here the thought process went as follows.
"Wow, I've been looking for something old and J-orientated for the last few months, maybe a civic or somesuch.
(hmm, it's not my preferred choice of an early CRX, or a Datsun, hmm and it's super rare so buying parts is going to be a nightmare, tuning it too)
. Yep, I'll buy that.... Hello is that Steve? Where do I send a cheque?"
Regardless of the fact that money is very much an object and I've got two other cars crying out for attention, see, it's a wonderful power I've got ;-)

It's front wheel drive with coils, and puny arms on a torsion bar at the back... So down we go.
Hurray.

Superb vehicle, I love it, right up my street. You know my views on ‘modz’ to super-rare J-tin… don’t do anything that cant be undone! Saying that I wouldn’t object to a quick bashing with the ‘baton of voluntary descent’ as long as it can be done by adjustments/custom springs and not chopping up rare suspension components! Are those things 4WD? I thought the real povo spec 1.6 jobs were FWD only.

Yep, I'd lower it, wide rims with mildly stretched tyres and otherwise leave it as is. Lovely!

Hey that's no towbar... That's a comedy overrider that's been added by an old owner. At first I thought it might be factory until I saw it wasn't even in the centre.
Mr plums, nothing will be done that can't be reversed, I'm not a fan of chopping springs and I know somebody who can make some up from a pattern. Seeing as the front wings have to come off for some welding, that will be easier still...
Whatever wheels I go for will have to be drilled for me though as the stud pattern is 4x140mm and I don't fancy Pug 504 wheels.
