well today after ages and ages of ebay, friday-ad, auto trader, exchange and mart and shop for sale boards searches. ringing virtually every used car and new car dealersi found the car for me. wait for it.......................... now this isn't the exact car in question but it is a white, m-reg,3door rover metro 1.1! grrrr horse power to the max. now in a moment of wisdom ot RCS i purchaced a metro window sticker, you know the sort, retro stripey thing that fits over the rear window! well basically i want to know what i can do to it to boost is "cool" factor. now before you all say scrap it, burn it or fling it off a cliff i only chose this as it was £250 and close to home. i checked the PCD and got quite a few good matches! but the mods are goin to have to wait a while. well big mods are the future plans are to keep this and get rod of the mini for more than the £25 quid i brought it for. then when funds allow and i have a diff ride turn the metro in to a full blown track day car. with a huge engine and no weight at all. so what you recon? fire away!

How much for your Mini, Robin? I reckon that style of Metro will repond quite well to a bit of "Euro" styling

I've never really considered a Metro before, but that one's pretty tidy, I reckon you could have the basis of a nice little car there, certainly a better car than some bloody Corsa or something!

the one in the pic isn't mine but its very similar with only a small amont of scabbing on the rear aches! the minis for sale on a few mini forums for OIRO £200 quid, but only because i want to capitalise on the prices people will pay for them now a-days! bit cheeky i know but have to make a bit of dosh to get me nan a nice prezzie as its been sat on her drive for the last 9 months! , i did a quick google and got a few tasty pics of metro's in track day guise and thats what gave me that plan! its been a good week actually as the g/f's bros collage tutor is selling off a nice and tidy '88 ax! for bout 150 quid, 12 months mot and 6 tax. so at least well have one vaugley retro car between us!

its already got a euroyish look to it IMO. personally, id put loads of stickers in the rear windows, a think and thin off centre stripe down the whole car, a wooden roofrack, some ats cups, and a general colour coding and smoothing feel to it.
oh, remove the wing mirrors all together, see if they make crstal headlights for the front, or them smoked type ones, and remove the bonnet vents (and maybe re[lace them with merc sprinter vents?)

yeah it was a bit pricey but i need it to get to work and back, it was near and it was in my budget, it's deffo gunna get some sort of treatment!
i found a website called metropower.com. slightly ironic name i know but the have some nice looking cars over there, hopefully if i can sort out the few scabs then it will be a nice car, so when i have passed and saved some dosh i can hand it over to my mum to poodle around in and then get myself a nice older car when i can afford to insure one.
