Has anyone noticed how the price of fuel is slowly rising? Is it me or does it seem to rise a penny or 2 each day? I'm just glad i don't have to use this garage near me. sorry for the poor quality pic but it was taken on my camera phone, from a junction opposite as i was waiting for passing traffic before pulling out in my bus. Yes you do see right, thats 99p/litre unleaded, and £1.03/litre for diesel.

Fuel has been rising here for years, not as high as the UK ,but it is all relative.Diesel is $1.14 a liter (and it's the garbage of fuel refining).ordinary unleaded is 98 cents per liter and Vortex which i run the merc on is $1.10 per liter . Two things really annoy me,OZ used to export more oil than it imported ,but the oil companies say they are pumping to capcity....yeah right! and our fuel price was tied to world prices by the present prime minister in 1970 something... So instead of cheap fuel we produce ourselves ,we pay huge prices for fuel made from Indonesian oil (allegedly) bUT THE big QUESTION...HOW MUCH DOES OIL ACTUALLY COST...? AND I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT THE US $67 A BARRELL the world is paying now. I think it costs F**K all ,the cost of exploring was borne by oil company share holders 60 years asgo and has been repaid many times over. With a certain US family having strong ties to the oil industry ,and one of their key people having an oil tanker named after her (the condoleeza rice) you can only expect the prices to rise in accordance with their greed. i wouldn't suggest protesting, afterall the G8 thing was ignored as though it has no relevence. and you run the risk of being named a taliban or quaida sympethiser.Such is the way of world now.... www.mondopolitico.com/library/1984/1984_c1.htm

Many years ago I changed my driving style to cope with rising fuel prices; I have now reached the stage where I am contemplating keeping my eyes shut in order to lower wind resistance.

Makes sence to run on something else, i got my rocket fuel for £16.50 for 25 liters. If i run on a 50/50 mix petrol effectivly cost me 81p a liter. The rocket fuel is only 66p a liter!

I ride a lot, but I'm in the contryside, everywhere is a long distance awaya and so my car gets used a lot. I ride to work though, also trying to stay away from my car causes my to come out in a terrible rash!

Know what you mean about the public transport, i have 2 busses a day one to and one from the town!. I try not to drive if i don't need to, and with fuel at 90p+ for the good stuff, it costs. Worth having the small imp engine, i have seen 60+mpg on the motorway (had starting troubles as it was so lean!).

I was on a team with a few mates when i was 14- 18 and we built a car that did almost 4000MPG, its only only about fuel useage its about driving style too. I got 60mpg i was in the tow of various lorries, and braking as little as possible! The economy car we made had the smallest injector bosch ever made! check out here ive got some photos the other day after the engine when back in. photobucket.com/albums/a178/blown_imp/Economy%20car%20EB3/cheers J

I've just got my little 1 litre datsun out of retirement, precisely because of the prices around here. I'm not keen on using tesco or morrisons petrol, but everything else is close to a quid a litre now.
