well its booked in for its MOT on Saturday.. and the plan is to take it camping in a couple of weeks BUT the plan was to spray the the rear at work.. but theres no room in the workshop at the mo and i can't take it camping looking like it was..(well i could, but the Mrs would!) so plan B put in to action.. i could spray it home here in the garage, but i don't like upsetting the mrs!(she says it stinks the house out!!).. so out came the good old roller.. and couple of coat's of 2k.. and its a proper bodge job! but looks better for it ;D will wet flat it and do it proper, when we get time!!

Looks great, so glad you decided to repair it! Would have been a crying shame to scrap such a nice van I'm quite a fan of those temporary wheels tbh

As the others have said, it's great to see you've gone ahead and repaired it. Your BFH combined with your skills & detemination have really paid off.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is one of my fave motors on RR - well done on keeping the mojo up and the van on the road. Epic stuff..... ;D ;D

I'm a huge fan of steels and whitewalls, but I'd be hesitant with this van because it looks so good on the current wheels. That said, if you went for whitebands instead of full wide whitewalls, it may well work with some period chrome/black Toyota hubcabs and yellow wheels.

update! 3 trips away camping with the family.. the kids were nagging that they couldn't see from there seats in the back.. so.. time for some budget(like i do!) rear windows. first you find a nice big sheet of 6mm polycarbonate.(found it at the local tip!! so it was free ;D) make a hard board template. then i cut out the window panel form the van. used the template to mark out the window size and then cut it out from the Polly sheet.removed all the lettering, but this left little scratches,but........... good thing is with Polly is you can polish out little scratches.. did this with some cutting compound and the power mop. came up like new.. i wanted to hide the bonding of the glass(like the T4 windows are.)so i tinted the glass from the inside, but painted a black edge round the side first.. will hide the sealer when its bonded in.. and the finished window looks like this.. and here it is fitted ;D really pleased with my "budget" window.. better than the £150 they wanted for fitting proper, non tinted glass and that was each! I'll crack on and do the other side now. and take some photos of how i fitted it..

I never read this thread till today- wow- great work and effort gone into ' a toyota van' he he- wicked. So nice to have read this as i've been working on ours- you have me all excited about pimping ours- except it will be going up in the world rather than down- I want even more 4wd clearance!
I like the round headlights on yours- I think we'll have to keep a look out for some.

A bit of tint on the front windows would balance things up a bit, you might even go as far as painting the rear (non-window) panel black and giving it the fully windowed look. Quick 'shop:
