hi all, been viewing this forum for some time now. really pleased to see the old school thing is still going strong after some time now doing the off road challenge thing in a well tricked up Suzuki SJ, think its time for a change.. and the plan has been for some time a day van to tow the SJ to events, but the likes off transits just didn't do it for me. so been looking for something different. then the hi ace came along.. the price was so cheap had to give my mate his arm back after ripping it off!!! well here it is, the plan is to fit some smaller rubber to the 16" rims and a bit off lowering!! rear is easy but what the front bars like to wind down?? do the little bits off welding it needs for a ticket then kit the rear out as a camper/day van. anyone got any good pics off custom J vans?? looking for the retro look. not the think thay seem to be doing at the mo with the chines and bums ?

I see you got a LEG with it too Not crazy about those rims but something more old skool might look cool. I've had one of those vans, and four Urvans.

those rims are oldschool as! They look like genuine RS-Watanabe 3pc rims! They suit an 80s J car well

I had a quick go on the 'shop for you. I would keep the surface rust and used look and give it some mild stickage and some very subtle visual mods and a quick engine, bigger brakes and uprated suspension. The ultimate sleeper!

Use the diesel for washing your kegs in. The diesel will lubricate the cotton fibres and make them last longer although your nads will honk of diesel. Also don't use red diesel for this for obvious reasons.

that looks some thing more like it, had a good look round it today. bits and bobs to do, good weekend with the welder should sort it. do like the idea off keeping it as is and modding it for the sleeper look. got to say was impressed how well the petrol lump went in standard form!! so the qustion would then be what engine would fit to the standard 4 speed box?? the petrol lump is the 3Y lump.(still got points in the dizzy!!!proper retro!)

those rims are oldschool as! They look like genuine RS-Watanabe 3pc rims! They suit an 80s J car well well look at these... are thay?? time to get some work done on this thing!! after getting it home over xmas.. the weather has been so**** and cold that not really been able to get out and do anything to it did fit a better secound hand dizzy to it. and now it start and run alot better.. as soon as the evenings start pulling out. can start on the welding.!!and there is a bit off it to do :-/but when you spoend all day welding up old landrovers.. anything is possable!!! could do with a good secound hand rear door.. but might just put a new bottom in it?? the piller damage that was done when it was broken in to.. and then a new arch/sill to make up.. and the odd little bits here and there to do.. ;D but would really like to save this one,as after getting it and looking about.. you don't see many,if any on the road!!!!!!!!!
