well i think it'd be interesting. if it's not a super mint original one owner car orsomethin that should be totally preserved. but if it's an average condition car, fire away. that would certainly make sense here in ireland long term, as tax for a 2litre car is about 590 euro per year. and tax for a light commercial, for example a escort van or p100 pickup and transits too is approx 260 euro yearly. plus it would be a very handy parts hauler or general workhorse. and shouldnt take very long to convert, or much financial outlay

There was one built like that in the 80s in Sweden with a small block chevy, it looked good. Guess that it will take away the most ugly part of the estate, the saloon rear doors...

they look quite nice as long as the pillar between the back door and the rear window cant be seen, otherwise they look like a cheep 2 door conversion..

will have to do a little more then just hide that pillar, as the window frame on the rear window curves downward, away from the roofline (volvo used the sedan doors on the wagon and tried to hide te fact by painting the window frames black to hide the odd line)
very interesting idea though. I'd keep the pillar for support, scrap the rear door window frame and fab up some box section edges to make it all flow. could be a very interesting project.

Do it, but lengthen the doors/fit ones from a 2-door model (if it exists)
i'd like to do that to my 406 estate - longer doors, move the b-pillar back, big turbodiesel V8 and RWD :-)
and a taxi sign :-)
