Those Zeemax ones are awesome.
My neighbour has had a few,xk8's and xkr's
He has a lot of problems with his early ones, but I think as they went on they sorted a lot of the gremlins. I know they can be prone to electrical faults, especialy the ones with lots of toys, but from what I can gather they are very very competent cars. They're starting to loose some of the flat cap brigade image now too.I'd definatly consider one. Sorry I can't be anymreo help.I'll ask my neighbour about them when I see him

Dad has a 1996/97 XK8, with the 4.0 lump. Its good fun, although the front bushes need changing as it wanders all over the place at low speeds, its bloody thirsty too! On a trackday at oulton park we boiled the brakes & ended up making the oil so hot it started to curse word out of the exhaust, so really we should have serviced it 1st  Some pics:

I don't really like them that much but (before the negative police crucify me! ;D ) I will say that when you consider that they're very similar to an Aston DB7, which are worth bazillions of tenners, they're darned good value.
As Lord Young says though, Nicasil issues can be an, er, issue.

My old boss had one of the last of this shape XKR's tweaked to over 500bhp. It looked great but was terrifying in all respects. I'm not sure it was up to all that power as you could light up the rears at almost any speed. He said his wife made him get rid of it but in reality I think he was terrified of it and was glad to see the back of it. Saying all they are a currently a bargain. £7500 with LPG. Mmmm, usuable "]http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/780464.htm]

Fuel consumption isnt too much of an issue for me luckily as I do low milage. Insurance is going to be the main pain in the behind. Trackday sounded like a bit of a disaster! I guess they are more of a big, lazy cruiser? I think I heard somewhere that the DB7 is actually based on the XJS!!!

I think the supercharged version gets around 15mpg and the v8 get's a little over 20. I like the thought of LPG as it means it's usuable all the time. My old Merc used to do 15mpg, which seemed okay until I decided to drive somewhere in it.

I guess they are more of a big, lazy cruiser? Far from it, yes it wasnt exactly the most nimble thing on the track (elises & vx220's were flying past us) but it certainly wasnt the slowest & handled VERY well. On the straights at oulton we were no slower than a 56 plate mustang, but round the corners we were loads quicker The only reason it went a bit pear shaped was because we didnt have time to do any proper preventative maintenence (we didnt service it, or even think about bleeding new fluid through the brakes before the track day). Apart from that, the only real problems we have had with it is the battery going flat when it stands for a while (over 4 weeks) but bearing in mind its probably the original battery, its done quite well.
