Well, I was going to go to asda, and the tip this afternoon, but unfortunatly, there isnt a granada outside where I left it last night There is a BMW 3 series with no locks and a blown up engine 3 doors up the street though. I went up to the PC who was "minding" the already reported (blocking a drive) BMW, who came and took details, seems the BM was stolen from gateshead yesterday, and until I came along they were looking for a gang of car criminals in our rather quiet and tiny mining village. Now they think they are "probably" from somewhere else and just needed a new car to borrow. And they have taken a '91 granada 2.0, full of bricks, plaster and a dishwasher with about a fiver's worth of petrol in it. I wonder where it will turn up, and what they nicked next? Life eh? PS, autofive, if you read this, I need a lift to the yard for another car. Ta

ha, none of it is secure, there is 1/4 tonne of old housebricks and a diswasher sliding around in the back. Add that to the tyre that egged up (bloody remoulds) on the way back from my mams on thursday making it hop and shake a lot over 50mph, and the no fuel showing on the gauge (and a locking petrol cap behind the locking flap...) I don't think they will go far in it.

Well, at the end of the day it stands me about £100 and half a days work/some spares to MOT it last week. And one of my CD players Although I'm not going to stress to much about it vanishing, its a pita and I hope it turns up without too much damage - I have plenty gran mk3 bits including lock sets and I still need a winter car. Mayday is waiting for spring... I have too much else to be doing right now, and it looks like I'm gonna have to mot another car for use next weekend oh well.

Sorry to hear that your car has been taken... But a dishwasher in your car? I think even "Pimp my ride" won't go that far ;-)

The dishwasher was my mam's old one, scrounged from outside her house on thursday...working except for a drip from the doorseal. I was going to try using it to clean car parts in, but I hadn't got round to taking it out of the car yet.

Telling you... conspicuously be seen cleaning and oiling your firestick... (if such firestick is able to be owned and therefore brandished in your neck of the woods). It's what works here for theft prevention and, frequently, effective intercession. Note: please do not reply to this post in such a way as to debate whether or not you like firesticks, firestick ownership, or what you think of firestick rights. Respect to the owner of the forum. Sorry to hear of your troubles, SOC. Hey, PM me, I'm ready to do the shipping of the "bells" now. Maybe the timing is good for both of us. Norm

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

There isn't really a big car crime problem where I live - thats what had the police puzzled. I mean, If you ditch a car in a place like this, you either live here, are stealing something else and leaving again ASAP, or they may find pieces of you in the woods...... I get the feeling that the BMW (which had been blowing oil all over the bonnet and winscreen a la blues brothers) was on its last gasp when they spied a village. Just a shame no-one was up to see them

"Alright you primitive meatheads..." Sorry, firestick, not boomstick... exactly what i was thinking. as an aside, i went to a fancy dress halloween party last year dressed as ash, chainsaw and shotgun and loads of fake blood and everything. got there and no one knew who i was supposed to be. bad crack SOC, hope it returns fairly undamaged.

fookin ell if I was a car thief and i was down to nicking old scorpios with piles of bricks and washing machines rolling about in the back i'd probably jack it in and get a job! Sounds the pits of a lifestyle that. I hope it turns up with minimal mongage.
