I'm seriously comtemplating the idea of buying a big Korean luxo-barge ie.Kia,Hyundai Sonata???etc.(if thats the big one).Although,I know nothing about them.If anyone has any pic or ideas I'd massively appreciate it.Thinkin bout doing the whole VIP/bippu thing, but no idea where to start as my thing has always been German stuff.
Will pay the picture dues soon as I get home!
Muchly thankyous in advance

I don't wanna seem defeatist, but I'd avoid them like the plague....The Koreans tried their hardest, but their barges are rubbish
You can buy quality barges from the usual suspects for pennies at the moment so why not look at those?
Of course if you really want one, just ignore me and my negativity and go for it! at least you wont see another one out on the roads! ;D

Believe me,deep down I KNOW that its probably the worst decision I'll ever make,but...I dunno, that kinda makes me wanna do it more. Just think a decent coloured one on teh right wheels would look pretty good!

The idea gets my vote - they tend to be bought as 'retirement vehicles' and get looked after quite well. You can pick them up for just a few beer tokens usually with pretty low mileage too.
I like your thinking - certainly more lateral than most and reckon you could really pull something off if done right.
I can't offer any technical advice, but reckon you should just go for it....

I drove a Kia Magentis V6. seemed pretty nippy and had quite a low-down driving position. Sorry for the curse word pic. Kia must have sold at least 25 Magentis's, but they seem to be quite pricey still, for what they are.

Hyundai XG30 gets my vote although they don't seem as cheap as they were a while ago (I've seen them around the £700-£800 mark!)

They look good - until you actually have to drive one. I drove a Proton for a year, it was an absolutely terrible car - tinny, plasticy, loose steering with no feel, etc. I never took my mates around in it, as the interior felt dirty and soft. And if you can live with the bad looks? However, the Sonata comes with the 4G63 engine (Lancers, Starions, etc). If you buy one, sell me the MPi throttle body and fuel rail etc, as they go straight on the Starion DPi engine.

Proton's a Malaysian maker. Why not get a Honda Legend, Toyota Camry or similar? They're likely to be a lot more competent, they are very cheap to buy and have better parts support

XG30 would get my vote too. Although, like Japan there have their own market specials too, so you could import and SVA one. How about trying to locate a sSyangyong Chairman. FWIW, I think Proton are Malaysian, not Korean.
