Well forwards actually. A few pics of the ZS, resplendant in its new french flag livery (and roll cage actually welded in!!) going up Prescott Hill. Will do a gallery later this week. Great fun. Best time was 1:01 which was up there with the 205 GTi track cars, while the 205 Mi16's were doing 57/58 Fantasic day. I love hill climbing now!! Coming Round the bend vrooooooom oooops. understeer!! Carbs were over fuelling a bit causing it to stutter on the hairpins. Need throttle bodies (grin)

Some great pics there 104ZS - Nice to hear that you were showing the GTi boys a clean pair of heels I rather fancy the idea of hillclimbing as its not so hard on the car due to the duration of the run, also I can imagine it can be very 'involving' yet friendly form of motorsport. The tricolore (remember the french text books at school ) On the roof looks good - was it as easy and pain free to apply as you described at RCS?

Glad you like the pics. Huuuge grin all day. Not running a specific class atm as still building car. That was a Peugeot only owners club day so all mixed up. Will be in the up to 1400cc class when done so I stand no chance against all the Mini's, oh well! No, the flag was not quite so simple as the weather was cacky all week. Wasn't too bad but didn't like going round the corners so had to cut and fold a bit. Still it came out OK. If you were paying a vehicle livery company to do it you would be a bit cross but for a home effort I was quite pleased in the end and the effect is pretty cool in the flesh. I do get quite some understeer. On the flat it tends to drift gently sideways. Fully independant rear means no 205 GTi style trips to the hedge as it is very communicative but at the very end it does give up and plough on, coupled with the fact that I was waaaaaay too fast into that hairpin and on the wrong line. Should really have gone in tighter and handbraked it round.
There was a 205 T16 Evo2 running up. God knows what time it did but it was massively tail out round there. looked like a around the 35sec mark. Still thats 800BHP 4WD and a dry course for you!!

... or the Imps ... !! Which championship are you competing in? I hope to enter the Aldon HSA next season, maybe making a few rounds at the end of this season just to get the car dialled in. We'll see how it goes... Great car! I'm

... or the Imps ... !! Naaa! They all just sit there on the line spewing coolant everywhere. Either that or detonate the engine halfway up! or maybe I just heard that!! My engines's just a more modern development of the climax engine anyway!

Try pumping more air into the rear tyres to loose a bit of grip and induce a bit of oversteer. ...and dual handbrake levers.

Many years ago I changed my driving style to cope with rising fuel prices; I have now reached the stage where I am contemplating keeping my eyes shut in order to lower wind resistance.

PMSL! ;D They do have that rep! Mine have never given me any problems. Well, just a knackered coil. My new engine is a more modern development of a Cov Climax too. By next year, I plan to have EFI using Honda CBR throttle bodies, Ford EDIS, MegaSquirt... ;D Can't wait! I don't expect to win anything, even in the Imp class. It's just got to be fun hustling that Chamois up a tight track as quick as I can. It'll be me against myself! Hope to meet you in competition! If you see a blue Chamois at the events, reg. CCC450D, pop over and say hi! I'm

Will be in the up to 1400cc class when done so I stand no chance against all the Mini's, oh well! Same as my plan,.. I hope to be in roadgoing up to 1400cc ,.. where I shall proceed to demolish the Minis* because the correct set of wheels are driven on my car * The may not in reality be true....

Love that final picture, looks like you were having great fun! It's not supposed to be fun, it's supposed to be fast!!! I think you'll have to give it up Hotwire, they may be annoying little buzz boxes but you just don't beat them up the hill.
