As above! I want a really early CD head unit! Not bothered if it plays cds or not but must work apart from that... Failing that I'm after a high end vintage cassette head such as a Blaupunkt Berlin with the control stalk!
Will pay good money!
Any period high end head unit from 84-90 ish considered!

It's early 90's, (1992) but I do have a VERY rare and uber cool Alpine 7980 unit which I am possibly thinking of selling. It was the worlds first 3 disc 'in dash' changer - a 3 disc cartridge slots into the head unit. The coolest part is the way the cartridge slides in & out as it changes disc! It has a remote tuner unit (no room in the head unit) and comes with all the leads, the slim 'card' remote as well as the extremely rare optional extra CD cartridges (3 x cartridges that you can preload with more discs - each colour coded) Boxed and full working I bought this new in 1992 for £600 (imagine how much that would be today!!). I've been told by various sources that this flagship model for Alpine series has some of the best circuitry on any CD player and far superior to pretty much anything made since. One car audio expert even reckons its the only unit to ever get near the sound quality of Nakamichi! I was advised never to sell it! Hi mate, it looks nice but I'm really after an early to mid 80s model so its too new!
Also unless its one of the first ever in car cd players, it needs to be euro like a Becker or Blaupunkt!
