I was at the VBOA show yesterday and thought I would share some pictures with you all.
Mint Ascona B 2.0SR, late 'big bumper' version:
Kadett GT/E coupe - rare RS2000 rival, there were at least 3 at the show (the Victor FE behind it was running a loud V8!):
Mk1 Ashtray SR with a 2.0 16v engine. Really mint, he was asking £2500:
Manta A Broadspeed Turbo! Only 28 made IIRC:
Manta B GT/J, very rare, mint and my personal car of the show. So shiny it buggered up the contrast on my camera:
TWR Holden Commodore (based on Senator). One of two shipped over to the UK to TWR for aerodynamics testing, one was crashed and this one should have been scrapped, but somehow escaped from the workshop! Unfortunately not running a Bathurst-spec V8, but a 3.8V6:
Three mint Mk2 Cavalier Calibres. Another rare car. Good number of other Mk2 SRIs but no boggo-spec minters to be found though:
Finally, I have to admit bias for this one - my own '78 Rekord on display with the Autobahnstormers.
The show is still on today and there should be more cars as it's the concours. Quite a good autojumble if you've got an old Vauxhall or Opel - I managed to pick up a new radiator for £20. Also picked up some magnificent 'Pod Face'-style sunburn as well...
